READERS SERVICE
The registration/circulation desk is located at the entrance of the library. It performs the following functions:
- Introduction to the Library
- Issuance and receipt of books
- Fine collection on overdue books
- Registration of members;
- Issuance of reminders for over dues
- Operating the ‘Bible’ register.
PHOTOCOPY SERVICE
Readers may get photocopy extracts from material available in the library at the cost of Rs.2/- per page. All copying is subject to the copyright Act.
SUGGESTION BOOK
A Suggestion Book is maintained by the library. Members are welcome to make constructive suggestions. The librarian would ensure proper and prompt action.
GULSHAN RESTAURANT
In order to provide basic funding to the library and mosque, the Gulshan restaurant was built in 1966. It has a great attraction to the public visiting Bagh-e-Jinnah. The restaurant is let-out on contract on an annual basis.
LIBRARY CATALOGUE
Library catalogue is the key to effective use of library resources. It is the best way to find out whether the library possesses a particular book, which books the library has on a specific subject and where to identify and locate them.
AUTOMATION
The library catalogue is in the process of automation. An open source multi-lingual integrated library software ‘KOHA’ has been adopted. Data of majority of the books has been fed. Dar-us-Salam Library will be able to share data with other libraries in the near future.
E-SECTION
An E-Section comprising 15 computers has been established for library users to search reading material according to their need.
INTERNET SERVICE RULE
The Internet charges from library members and non-members are Rs.10/- and Rs.15/- per hour respectively.
The usage time is calculated in units of one hour. Users are requested to not misuse the internet facilities. Users will be penalized for browsing obnoxious material and their internet privilege shall be revoked. Assistance with internet and computer usage is available to all users, especially beginners.
